It is generally extracted from the species of Gaultheria. The major component is an ester Methyl Salicylate ( about 98%), which is found to protect the plants from insects.

Extraction Method- Steam Distillation

Color & Odor- Pale Yellow To Reddish Brown Liquid with Fresh Sweet Wintergreen odor.

Uses- Wintergreen essential oil (Gaultheria procumbens), is used to remedy bloody wounds that are a result of dog bites, snakebites and insect bites.
